Olympic Heaven
What is it with these hostels and not having free internet anymore? Once again, Im gonna have to give you a quick, 15 minute brain drain. I left Barcelona wearing a tshirt and jeans and was sweating. I arrived in Geneva wishing I had another sweatshirt to put on my Emory Track one. After a speedy and rather luxurious train ride, I made it to Lausanne, Switzerland, just in time to see the sun set over the mountains. Talk about amazing, my hostel looks right out onto the Swiss Alps. After checking into my hostel, I went for a walk on the lake. I bought some Swiss Chocolate and ate the entire bar along the water. It was beautiful. As you might imagine, Im pretty much in heaven right now. I just got back from the Olympic Museum...yes, the official one...the one you pay way too much for because its official. But it was the only reason I came to Lausanne, and it was completely worth it. I got to see Usain Bolts singlet from Beijing, Michael Phelps Lazr suit from Beijing and Shannon Millers leotard from Barcelona...among other things. They also have the torches from each relay and the medals from every Olympics. Needless to say, Im loving my life. I just wish there was more to do in this city. I looked at the map, and I dont think Laussane really has ANYTHING else to do in it! Tomorrow I head back to the UK. Im staying with a St. As friend at her house in Bristol!
