Breaking the Bank in Switzerland

I made it back to mainland UK, but the adventure isn't over yet. I'm staying in Bristol with some friends and doing day trips from there. Just a little recap of the last few days...

After I blogged on Wednesday night, I was hanging out at my hostel. I was getting a little creeped out by how few people were actually talking to other people. I looked up and saw this kid who looked familiar. After a quite a few double takes, I got up the nerve to ask him if he went to St. Andrews. He did and suddenly I had a friend! lol. After nearly an hour trying to find a bar to get a drink, we finally found a small one open (to give you some perspective, the town only takes about twenty minutes to cross by foot).

Thursday I headed into Geneva to catch my flight to Bristol. With a few hours to spare, I had enough time to hope on a bus to the United Nations, hope on another bus to the Old Town, before spending the remainder of the time hanging out in a park by the lake. I've never been to a country trusts its citizens to pay for public transportation as much as Switzerland. I took a train to Laussane and not a single person checked my ticket. Back was the same. The buses don't really have anyone patrolling. Its weird. Not even a sign of warning.

Yesterday we went to Bath, sight of...well the Roman baths. We took a free walking tour of the city, which is about all you need to do in Bath. Then we spent the remainder of the day in the park having a picnic, playing on the playground, and getting afternoon tea.

Today, three of my friends are heading back to St. Andrews. My friend Dani and I are going to hitch a ride to Stonehenge from one of them.
